About Us
OSJCT Henry Cornish Care Centre in Chipping Norton provides both residential and nursing care for older people, including people living with dementia, people with physical disabilities and people who have sight or hearing loss. We also offer planned respite stays.
Having residential and nursing care in one place matters more than it might sound. When somebody's health needs increase, they do not automatically have to pack up and move somewhere unfamiliar. They can usually stay where their friends are, where staff know their habits, and where their family already knows the way.
Nurses on site mean conditions can be managed steadily and medicines properly reviewed, with fewer trips to hospital for things that can be handled well here. But we try never to let clinical care crowd out ordinary life. Residents choose when to get up and how to spend the day, meals are meant to be enjoyed, and visitors are welcome whenever they want to come. For residents living with dementia we keep the day familiar and unhurried, and for anybody with sight or hearing loss we take care over how we approach and speak with them.
Respite stays give family carers a genuine rest and support people recovering before they go home.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask residents and relatives what they make of us, and we act on it.
