About Victoria Care Home

Victoria Care Home in Worksop provides nursing and personal care for older people and younger adults, including those living with dementia. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, working alongside carers who know the people they look after well. Nursing needs including wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met on the premises, and we work closely with GPs and community teams so that changes in health are acted on early. Caring for people with dementia alongside nursing needs takes patience and the right training. We keep the day predictable, keep familiar belongings in every room, adjust how we communicate rather than expecting people to adjust to us, and watch carefully for pain or discomfort that somebody may not be able to describe. Beyond the clinical work, our concern is that people have days worth having. Meals are cooked here with a genuine choice, there is company for those who want it and quiet for those who do not, and staff are expected to have time to sit and talk. Families are welcome and kept properly informed. Respite and short stays can be arranged, including after a hospital admission. If you are looking at nursing homes in this area, please telephone us and arrange a visit.
