About Us
Whitwell Park is a nursing home in Worksop, and we care for adults who need qualified nursing on hand around the clock. That includes older people whose health has become too complicated to manage safely at home, people living with dementia, adults with a physical disability or a sensory impairment, and adults with a learning disability or autism whose health needs sit alongside their support needs. We also welcome younger adults, and we take respite bookings when a family needs a planned break or a person needs somewhere steady after a spell in hospital.
Nursing here is not something that happens to people in the background. We explain what we are doing and why, we involve the person in decisions about their own treatment wherever they are able to take part, and we work closely with district nurses, GPs and hospital teams so that nobody falls between services. Pain, skin care, nutrition and mobility get consistent attention rather than occasional attention.
Alongside the clinical side, this is somewhere people live. Days have shape to them, there is company for anyone who wants it, and quiet for anyone who does not. We keep families informed and we welcome them at the times that suit them, not just at set visiting hours. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are weighing up nursing care for someone close to you, come and look round, ask us the awkward questions, and see how the home feels at an ordinary time of day.
