About Us
Oakwood House Care Home is a nursing home in Norwich, Norfolk. We provide nursing care for older people and for younger adults whose health needs mean that qualified nurses should be on hand at any hour.
The people who live here have a broad range of needs. Many are living with dementia, and we also care for adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. Because the range is wide, we plan around individuals rather than categories. How somebody communicates, what settles them, what they like to eat and when they prefer to sleep matter as much as anything clinical.
We work closely with GPs, community teams, therapists and hospital specialists so that treatment is prompt and people are not moved about more than they need to be. Families are kept informed, and what they know about the person shapes how we care for them.
Respite stays are available for families needing a planned break and for people who require nursing support for a short period.
The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection.
