About Us
Halsey House is a nursing home in Cromer, on the north Norfolk coast, providing nursing care for older people, including those living with dementia, and offering respite stays for people who need care for a shorter period.
Having registered nurses on duty means we can look after residents whose health needs are complex or changing without them having to move again when things become more demanding. We manage medication, wounds, continence, nutrition and pain, we watch for the early signs that somebody is unwell, and we work closely with GPs, district nursing teams and hospital colleagues across the county.
Good nursing is the foundation of what we do, but it is not the whole of it. Halsey House is where our residents live, and how somebody spends an ordinary day matters just as much as their care plan. We learn about people's earlier lives, their work, their families and their tastes, and we use that to shape their days. Residents keep their own routines as far as their health allows, and they have company when they want it and quiet when they do not.
For those living with dementia, we keep the surroundings calm and familiar and pair staff with residents consistently. A known face and an unhurried manner prevent a great deal of distress.
Families are welcome here at any reasonable hour and we keep them properly informed rather than contacting them only when something has gone wrong. If you are looking for nursing care in this part of Norfolk, please arrange to visit.
