About Copper Beeches
We are Copper Beeches, a nursing home in Rochester. We care for older people and for younger adults with nursing needs, and many of those living with us are living with dementia. Qualified nurses are on duty around the clock. That means changes in somebody's health are noticed early by staff who know them, treatment does not wait for an outside visit, and families are not left worrying about the hours when the office is closed. Beyond the clinical side, our aim is fairly simple: this should feel like somewhere people live. Nobody is woken to fit a rota. Meals are chosen rather than allocated, and there is no obligation to spend the day in the lounge if somebody would rather have their own room and their own company. Staff learn what settles an individual, what they enjoy and what their life looked like before they came to us. Dementia care here is built on patience. We do not correct people or insist on the present. We find what works on a given day and go with it, and the days are calmer for it. Relatives are welcome to visit whenever suits them, and we ring early when we are concerned. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch to look round.
