About Us
Here at Aylesham Court Care Home, we are proud to be a nursing home based in the heart of Leicester, Leicestershire, caring for people who deserve thoughtful, skilled and genuinely attentive support.
We support a wide range of individuals, including older people, those living with physical disabilities, and younger adults who require nursing level care. We also offer respite care for those who need a shorter stay, whether to recover after a hospital admission or to give a family carer some time to rest. Whatever brings someone to us, we aim to make them feel at home from the moment they arrive.
Our team brings together qualified nurses and care staff who know the people they care for as individuals, not as a list of needs. We take time to understand what matters to each person, how they like their day to go, what makes them comfortable, and what brings them joy. That knowledge shapes everything we do.
We are extremely proud that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an Outstanding overall rating. That recognition means a great deal to us, though what matters most is the feedback we receive day to day from residents and their families. Knowing that people feel safe, respected and well cared for is what keeps us focused.
Leicester is a vibrant and wonderfully diverse city, and that is reflected in the community we serve. We welcome people from all backgrounds and make every effort to ensure our care is culturally sensitive and inclusive.
If you are considering Aylesham Court for yourself or someone close to you, we would warmly encourage you to get in touch or come and visit us. We are always happy to show people around and answer any questions you might have.

More about the care at Aylesham Court Care Home
What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.
Older Person Care
Most of what a good home does for older people is undramatic, help with a wash, the right tablets at the right time, a hot meal and conversation. Aylesham Court Care Home is registered for older person care alongside nursing. The things residents notice are small and specific, which is why daily routine is worth asking about in detail. Ask whether people choose when to get up and eat, and how personal care is handled discreetly. Ask how many staff and nurses are on duty overnight and how quickly bells are answered. Leicestershire usually pays between £820 and £1000 a week, so ask how any shortfall is handled.
Physical Disability
Adapted bathrooms and the right hoist decide how much dignity survives daily personal care. Physical disability is named in the registration at Aylesham Court Care Home. Independence lasts longer where equipment is already in place rather than ordered after an incident. Ask what the home holds, who assesses for it, and how transfers are staffed at night.
Younger Adults
Nursing care at a young age brings a social problem alongside the medical one. Younger adults are included in what Aylesham Court Care Home is registered to support. Internet access, privacy, visitors at ordinary hours and leaving the building all matter more under sixty five. Ask who else of a similar age lives there and what is available beyond the lounge.
Respite Care
A nursing respite bed is harder to find than a residential one, so early booking matters. Respite care is included in the registration at Aylesham Court Care Home, including stays after a hospital admission. Send medication in original boxes, a summary of routines and any nursing or dietary instructions. Ask the minimum stay, the weekly rate and how quickly an urgent request could be met.
Nursing Care
Some conditions need a nurse rather than a carer, including unstable diabetes, pressure wounds, catheters and medication that must be adjusted. Aylesham Court Care Home in Leicester is registered to provide nursing care, with qualified nurses on duty rather than on call. The NHS pays Funded Nursing Care of roughly 235 pounds a week where nursing input is genuinely required, and it comes off the invoice. Nursing fees across the East Midlands commonly run from £1050 to £1350 a week. The home was rated outstanding when the Care Quality Commission inspected in September 2019, a strong judgement that is now several years old. Ask whether Funded Nursing Care has been assessed and what has changed since.
