About Us
Ashby Court Care Home is a nursing home in Ashby De La Zouch. We care for older people who need nursing support, including those living with dementia, and we offer respite stays alongside permanent places.
Having registered nurses here around the clock means clinical needs are met in the home. Wound care, catheters, diabetes, pain relief and the slow changes that come with frailty are managed by people who already know the person, which spares a great deal of upheaval and means families can ring and speak to somebody who can actually say how the day has gone.
Most of good nursing care is small things done reliably. Pressure care that does not slip. Mouth care that is not skipped. Someone sitting with a person who is frightened in the night. We would rather be measured on those than on anything we could write in a brochure.
The other half of the job is a life worth getting up for. Residents choose their routines and their rooms are their own, and nobody is expected to join in with anything out of politeness. With dementia we rely on familiar faces, a steady rhythm and treating distress as something with a cause rather than as behaviour to be managed.
Respite stays suit people needing nursing input for a short period and family carers who need a genuine break.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit Ashby Court and ask us anything.
