About Us
River Court is a nursing home in Watford. We provide nursing care for older people and for younger adults whose health needs require a registered nurse on hand at any hour of the day or night.
Many of the people we care for are living with dementia alongside other conditions, and we plan for that combination properly. Nursing needs such as wound care, support with medication, continence care and the monitoring of long term conditions are met here, and we work with GPs and community specialists so that changes in somebody's health are acted on quickly rather than left to become emergencies.
Clinical care is the foundation but it is not the whole job. People live here, sometimes for a long time, and the day needs to hold something more than treatment. We aim for good food, company for those who want it, familiar belongings in every room and staff with the time to sit and talk. Families are welcome and we keep them informed as a matter of course.
Respite and short stays are possible, including for people leaving hospital who need a period of nursing care before going home.
If you are looking for a nursing home in Hertfordshire, please telephone us. We will be straight with you about whether we can meet the need.
