About Us
Brunswick Court is a nursing home in Watford supporting older people who need nursing care, including many living with dementia, and adults living with a physical disability. We support younger adults too, and we offer respite stays.
With registered nurses on site, health needs are looked after here rather than becoming a reason to move someone somewhere unfamiliar. Medication, wounds, continence, long term conditions and end of life care are all managed in the home by people who know the resident.
Good nursing care depends on knowing someone properly. A resident who cannot easily explain that something hurts will show it another way, and it is the staff who know their usual manner who will pick it up. We keep teams as consistent as we can for exactly that reason, and we treat time spent with residents as part of the work rather than as something left over.
Our dementia care is built on familiar faces, a predictable day and a calm building. For residents living with a physical disability we pay close attention to positioning, seating, equipment and mobility.
Respite stays are available, including recovery periods after a hospital admission.
If you are considering nursing care in this area, please come and see us. Ask the awkward questions about staffing and about nights, and judge us on the answers you get.
