About Us
Aston Grange Nursing Home is a nursing home in St Albans. We care for older people whose health needs mean qualified nurses should be close at hand, including many people living with dementia, and we also support people with physical disabilities and younger adults with nursing needs.
Having nurses here means that when somebody's health changes it can be met without them having to move somewhere else, which spares a frail person a great deal of upheaval. It also means families can step back from coordinating appointments and treatments and go back to simply visiting.
Around the nursing, we try to keep life ordinary and unhurried. People choose when to get up, what they eat and how they spend their days, and for people living with dementia we hold routines steady and allow plenty of time, because hurrying somebody who is confused helps nobody. Respite stays are available too, for a family carer needing a break or for someone recovering after a spell in hospital.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. Until we are, we would rather you came and saw the home for yourself and spoke to the people living here and their relatives.
If you are weighing up nursing care for someone in your family, please come and visit on an ordinary day and ask us the questions that are worrying you.
