About Us

Chandlers Ford Care Home is a nursing home in Eastleigh, supporting people from across Hampshire. We care for older people and younger adults who have nursing needs, and many of the people living with us are living with dementia.

Because we are registered for nursing care, we have qualified nurses on site at all hours. That changes what is possible. Complex medication, wound care, careful attention to nutrition, pain and skin, and noticing early when somebody is becoming unwell can all be handled here rather than through a series of hospital admissions. For families who have spent months watching a relative go in and out of hospital, that stability is often the biggest relief.

Nursing is the foundation but it is not the purpose. The purpose is that somebody gets to carry on being themselves while their health is looked after. So we protect privacy, we ask rather than assume, we make visitors welcome at awkward hours, and we try to make sure the day contains something other than care tasks.

With dementia, we work on continuity. The same faces, a predictable rhythm and staff who know a person's history well enough to settle them when they are frightened.

The Care Quality Commission has not yet given us an overall rating. The most useful thing you can do is visit, speak to the nurses on duty and ask us how we handle the hard nights as well as the easy afternoons.

More about the care at Chandlers Ford Care Home

What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.

Older Person Care

A GP surgery, a dentist and a pharmacy all sit within 0.1 miles of Chandlers Ford Care Home, with a railway station at half a mile. For older residents the day covers help with washing and dressing, medication, meals and company. The home says nursing is the foundation rather than the purpose, the purpose being that somebody carries on being themselves while their health is looked after, and that it protects privacy, asks rather than assumes and makes visitors welcome at awkward hours. Registered only in October 2026, it has no inspection behind those claims. Ask how many staff are awake overnight and who records a resident's own timings.

Dementia

Thirty three of the 48 homes in this area are rated Good or Outstanding, and Chandlers Ford has no rating since registering on 1 October 2026. For dementia the home says it works on continuity, the same faces, a predictable rhythm and staff who know a person's history well enough to settle them when frightened. That is an accurate account of what helps. In a 45 place home the question is whether staffing stays stable enough to deliver it. Ask what dementia training staff receive, how distress and attempts to leave are handled, and how care is adjusted as the condition advances.

Younger Adults

No home in this part of Hampshire has registered more recently than Chandlers Ford did in October 2026. With 45 places it is larger than 27 of the 48 homes nearby, and most of those places will hold people well over 65. Ask who else of a similar age lives there, what the week offers them, and how freely a person can come and go.

Nursing Care

Southampton General Hospital, 4.5 miles away, is the nearest 24 hour A&E to this Eastleigh home. Qualified nurses are on site at all hours because the home is registered for nursing, which it says lets complex medication, wound care, nutrition, pain and skin be handled there rather than through a series of hospital admissions. For families who have watched a relative go in and out of hospital for months, that stability is often the biggest relief. South East weekly fees commonly run from £1350 to £1750, while Hampshire council pays about £950 to £1150. NHS Funded Nursing Care adds roughly £235 a week where a nursing need is agreed, so ask how it is credited.
