About Us
Edensor Care Centre is a nursing home in Clacton on Sea caring for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia or mental ill health, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Qualified nurses are on duty at every hour of the day and night.
Nursing on site means health needs are attended to here as they arise rather than arranged around visits from elsewhere, and it means our nurses and carers work as one team. What somebody likes, what unsettles them and how they want their day to run counts alongside the clinical detail.
We plan for each person individually. Some need nursing support delivered precisely and reliably; others mainly need comfort, good food and help keeping in touch with the people who matter to them. Where dementia is part of the picture we keep the day familiar and unhurried and use what families tell us about a person's life. Where mental ill health is involved we work closely with community teams and include the person in decisions.
Meals are cooked on the premises and adapted where swallowing or appetite is a difficulty. Families are welcome at any reasonable hour.
Short stays are available. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring to arrange a visit.
