About Us
Broomfield Village Care Home is a nursing home in Chelmsford, Essex. We care for older people who need qualified nursing alongside everyday support, for residents living with dementia, for people with physical disabilities and with a visual or hearing impairment, and for younger adults with nursing needs. We also offer respite stays, including for people recovering after a hospital admission. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours. That is what allows wounds, medication, pain relief, continence, long term conditions and end of life care to be managed on site, and it means changes in someone's health are picked up and acted on rather than left. We work with GPs, community specialists and hospital teams so that decisions are made calmly and in good time. We also try not to let the clinical side take over the feel of the place. Residents choose when to get up, what to eat, where to sit and how much company they want. Rooms hold people's own furniture and photographs, and visitors are welcome without appointment. For residents living with dementia, familiar surroundings and consistent staffing do most of the work, and we take time to understand what sits behind distress. We do not yet hold an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. We are registered with them and inspected against their standards. Please arrange to visit and see the home for yourself.
