About Eachstep
Eachstep Blackburn is a nursing home in Blackburn, providing nursing and personal care for older people and for younger adults with a wide span of needs. We care for residents living with dementia, adults who have a learning disability, autistic adults, residents with mental health needs, residents with physical disabilities and residents with visual or hearing impairment, and we offer respite stays for shorter periods. Having qualified nurses in the team means a resident whose health becomes complex or changeable does not have to move on again. We work closely with doctors, district nurses, mental health colleagues and therapists whenever someone's condition alters, and clinical care is given with the same regard for privacy and dignity as every other part of the day. With needs this varied we plan support one person at a time. Dementia care asks for familiarity and reassurance rather than correction. For residents with a learning disability or autistic residents, communication and routine come first, and we write plans in a form the person can actually use. For residents with sensory loss we adapt how we communicate and how shared spaces are arranged. Residents are asked about their history, their work, their family, their faith and their food, and the day is built from those answers. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
