About St Aubyns Nursing Home
We are St Aubyns, a nursing home in Sidcup caring for older people, including many living with dementia and people with a physical disability. With qualified nurses on duty at all hours, we are able to look after people whose health needs are complicated or changeable. Problems get spotted early rather than late, treatment does not wait, and families are not left uncertain about what cover exists overnight. Alongside that, we try to keep the ordinary business of living at the centre of the home. People choose when to get up, what they eat and how they spend the day. Some want company from breakfast onwards, others would rather have their own room and their own quiet, and neither preference needs explaining. Dementia care here depends on knowing the person. We learn about the work somebody did, the family they raised and the routines that steady them, and we build the day around that instead of around tasks. We do not argue with people about the present. Families are welcome whenever they wish to visit, and we would far rather make an early phone call about a small concern than a difficult one later. We offer respite stays as well as permanent places, which helps family carers who need a break and people recovering their strength after hospital. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please get in touch to arrange a look round.
