About Park View

We are Park View, a nursing home in Dagenham, in the London borough of Barking and Dagenham. We provide nursing care for older people and younger adults, including many people living with dementia, and we also offer respite stays for those who need nursing support for a short period. Registered nurses are on duty here at all hours, so we can care for people whose health needs are significant and respond quickly when something changes. We work alongside local GPs, district nurses and specialist teams so that care is coordinated and problems are picked up early. Dementia care asks for more than clinical competence. It asks for calm surroundings, a predictable rhythm to the day, and staff who understand that distress usually means something rather than nothing. We keep our teams as familiar as we can so that people are cared for by faces they recognise, and we learn enough about a person's earlier life to make sense of what they are telling us. Families are welcome here without appointment and are encouraged to be as involved in care as they wish. We would far rather hear a concern early than have it raised as a complaint later. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep examining our own practice all the same. If you are considering nursing care in this part of east London, please come and visit us on an ordinary day.
