About Us

Abbey Care provides support in people's own homes in Haywards Heath and across West Sussex. We work with older people, with younger adults, with people living with dementia, with people who have a learning disability or autism, with people managing mental ill health, and with people whose physical disability or loss of sight or hearing makes everyday tasks harder than they used to be.

Care at home works best when it is built around a real life rather than a template. So we ask the practical questions first. What time do you actually like to get up? Which parts of the day are difficult and which are fine? Who else is helping, and what do they need from us? From there we agree a plan, put it in writing and review it as often as it needs reviewing.

Our staff help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping, laundry and getting out and about, but a great deal of the value lies in continuity. When the same carers visit the same homes they learn what normal looks like for that person, and they notice quickly when something has changed. That is often what keeps a small problem from turning into a hospital admission.

The Care Quality Commission rated us good at our most recent inspection. If you are thinking about support for yourself or for a relative, we are happy to visit, talk it through and be honest about what we can and cannot do.
