About Us
Transforming Support in Sussex provides care and support in people's own homes in Crawley and the surrounding area. Much of our work is with adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people with mental health needs, and we also support older people who need help to keep managing at home.
What support looks like depends entirely on the person. For one it may be help with cooking, shopping, laundry, bills and appointments. For another it may be support to use local transport, to get to a job or a college course, to join a club or to keep in touch with family. For someone else the important part is staff who understand how they communicate, what they find overwhelming and how they like the day to be ordered.
For older people we help with personal care, medication, meals and the practical running of a home, and with getting out and about. Many of the people we support are younger adults, so we plan around study, work and social life.
We take time to get to know a person before making plans, and we involve the people who matter to them where that is wanted. Support is reviewed as things change.
