Most of the people we visit are older, many are living with dementia, and we also support younger adults and people with a physical disability. Our work is practical and personal. A carer comes to your door at an agreed time and helps with whatever has been arranged, whether that is getting washed and dressed, prompting medication, preparing a meal, help around the house, getting to the shops or simply an hour of company. Everything begins with a proper conversation about how you like things done, because small preferences matter far more than most care plans admit. Once we know what works we aim to send the same carers consistently so that each visit feels like somebody familiar rather than another new face at the door. We revisit the plan as things change in either direction, and if somebody needs less from us than they did we would rather say so than keep visits running out of habit. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and we are glad to be asked about our training, our staffing and how we handle concerns.
