About UE

We are a home care provider based in Tower Hamlets, supporting people in their own homes across this part of London. Our work is with older people, with people managing mental health conditions, with people who have a physical disability, with people who have a visual or hearing impairment and with younger adults. Home care amounts to a series of short windows in somebody's day, and whether those windows help or intrude depends almost entirely on who arrives and how well they understand the household. That is where we put our effort. Before a package starts we sit down with the person and whoever they want present and ask the things that assessments often skip. What do you want to keep doing for yourself. What time does the day really need to begin. What makes a morning go badly. Who should we contact when something changes. Then we build the visits around those answers rather than around our rota. Where sight or hearing is poor we adapt our communication properly. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would ask people to judge us on how we answer the telephone and how we turn up.
