About Kome Care Community

Kome Care Community supports people in their own homes across Tower Hamlets. We work with older people, people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, people living with mental ill health, people with a physical disability, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. That is a broad range, and it reflects how varied the need is locally. Some of the people we visit want one short call a day. Others need several visits covering personal care, medication and meals, or a carer who can stay for longer. For younger adults and for people with a learning disability, our role is often less about personal care and more about making an ordinary week workable. We plan travel time into rotas properly so that visits are not rushed or clipped short, which in London takes some doing. We also try to keep the same carers going to the same people, because relationships are where most of the value sits. We are honest with families about what home care can and cannot safely cover, and we say so early if someone's needs are outgrowing it rather than letting a situation drift. Please get in touch if you would like to talk things through.
