Routes Healthcare Tameside provides support at home to adults across Tameside and the surrounding part of Greater Manchester. A good deal of our work is with people whose needs are complex enough that a standard home care visit is not what is called for. Complex support at home depends on staff who are trained for the specific person rather than trained in general, and on a team that stays the same. Someone with significant needs cannot be supported safely by whoever happens to be free that day. So we build a small team around each person, train them for what that person actually needs, and keep them. Some of the areas we work in carry real stigma, and people have often had more experience of being judged than helped. We try to be straightforward and useful instead.
