We are a home care service based in Southampton, supporting people in their own houses and flats across the city. We work with older people, adults living with dementia, people managing mental ill health, adults with physical disabilities, people with visual or hearing impairments and younger adults. Most of the people who come to us are trying to solve a specific problem. Mornings have become difficult. Medication is getting muddled. A hospital stay has left someone less steady than they were. We would rather start there, with the actual difficulty, than with a standard package of visits that may or may not address it. Our support covers personal care, medication, meals, mobility, help getting up and settling at night, and getting out into the community. Visits are planned around a person's own routine, and we keep the same familiar faces coming wherever we can, because home care only works properly when the person at the door already knows how someone likes things done. For people with sensory impairments we adapt how we communicate rather than expecting anyone to adapt to us. For those living with dementia, we follow the routines that already work rather than imposing new ones. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. If you are looking into support for yourself or a relative, we are happy to visit, listen properly and explain honestly what we could and could not cover.
