About Us

We are Springfield Healthcare in South Tyneside, based in Jarrow and supporting people in their own homes across the borough.

We work with older people and people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who need support to live independently.

The point of what we do is to make staying at home a realistic option rather than a hope that quietly runs out. Depending on what somebody needs, that might be a short daily call or a substantial package built around several visits. We help with personal care, medication, meals, household tasks and getting out and about, and wherever a person can still manage something we support them to keep doing it.

We take the practical side seriously. Rounds are planned so visits are not cut short to make up time, and we keep the same carers with the same households wherever we can. Familiarity is not a nicety in this work. It is what makes personal care bearable and what allows somebody to notice that a person is not themselves today.

Everything begins with a visit and a proper conversation, with family involved where that is wanted, and we review plans as circumstances change.
