About Cera
We are the South Tyneside team of Cera, supporting people in their own homes in Jarrow and across the borough. The people we visit cover a broad range. Most are older adults, a good number living with dementia. We also support people with a learning disability, autistic people, people managing a mental health condition, people with a physical disability, and people who are blind, partially sighted, deaf or hard of hearing. Often somebody has more than one of those at once, and it is usually the combination that makes managing alone stop being possible. We look at the household as it really is rather than at a list of tasks. Who else lives there and how worn out they are. What the person can still do and would be insulted to have taken over. Which part of the day has actually broken down. From that we agree what we will do, write it in plain language, and change it when circumstances change. Visits cover personal care, medicines, meals, housework, shopping, appointments and company, from half an hour upwards, and we aim to send the same few workers to each household. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us and we will come out and listen before suggesting anything.
