About Us

Battlefield Healthcare provides care in people's own homes in Shrewsbury and the surrounding part of Shropshire.

Home care covers a great deal of ground. For one person it is a single call in the morning, and that visit is the difference between managing at home and not managing. For another it is several calls through the day, or longer stretches so that nobody is on their own for hours at a time. What is right at the start is often not what is right six months later, so we review arrangements honestly rather than leaving a package in place out of habit.

We begin by coming out and talking. We want to understand how a household already works, what somebody actually wants help with and, just as usefully, what they would rather keep doing for themselves. Independence given up unnecessarily is very hard to recover.

After that it comes down to reliability and relationships. Arriving when we said we would. Sending carers who know the household. Handing over properly so nobody has to explain themselves twice. Telling a family early when something has changed.
