About YourLife

YourLife in Southport supports people in their own homes across Southport and the surrounding parts of Sefton. We work with older people, people living with dementia, adults with a physical disability, people with visual or hearing impairment and younger adults. Almost everyone who contacts us wants to stay in their own home, and our role is to make that realistic rather than to take anything over. For some people that is one call each morning to help with washing and dressing. For others it is several visits a day covering personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer sits so a family carer can have time of their own. People tend to be very clear about what they can still manage and would rather keep doing, and respecting that is as much the job as anything we take on. Plans follow from that conversation and get reviewed properly when things change. Continuity is where we focus. A familiar carer who knows the house, the routine and the person makes a visit work in a way a stranger cannot, and that matters most where dementia or reduced sight and hearing are involved.
