About Us

Stamford Healthcare is a home care agency supporting people in and around Newark in Nottinghamshire. We visit people in their own homes, arranging calls around existing routines rather than around what is convenient for a rota, and we work hard to keep the same carers with the same people.

We support older people who need help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping and getting out safely. We also support people living with dementia, where familiarity and patience achieve far more than detailed written instructions handed to a stranger, and adults managing mental health conditions, where reliability and being properly listened to matter enormously. We work with younger adults too, whose needs and priorities often look quite different from the usual picture of home care.

We think continuity is the single thing that makes home care work. When a carer knows someone well, they notice the change in appetite, the unsteady walk or the flat mood that turns out to be the first sign of a problem, and that is how trouble gets headed off early.

We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission, and we would rather state that plainly. Until then, judge us on whether visits happen as agreed, whether we ring when plans have to change and whether we give you honest answers when you ask.
