About Oak House

Oak House provides care and support to people in their own homes in Mansfield and the surrounding parts of Nottinghamshire. We work with older people and younger adults, with people living with dementia, with adults who have a learning disability or are autistic, with people managing mental health conditions and with people living with an eating disorder. What we provide is shaped by the person rather than by a standard package. It may be personal care, prompting and support with medication, help preparing meals, support with shopping, laundry and the house, or help to get out to appointments, college or work. For some of the people we support, the most valuable part is somebody reliable being there while confidence is rebuilt. We agree support with the person themselves, put it in plain language, and review it honestly when circumstances change. We would rather step back as somebody becomes more independent than keep doing things out of habit. Our staff are trained for the needs they support and supervised properly, and we keep teams consistent so that nobody has to explain themselves to a stranger each week. We work alongside families and the professionals involved so that support pulls in one direction. If you are looking at support at home in Mansfield, please contact us and we will talk it through with you.
