About Home Support

We are Scarborough Home Support, a home care agency working across Scarborough and the surrounding part of North Yorkshire. We visit adults in their own homes so that they can stay where they want to be. We support older people and people living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities or autism, people living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities, people with a visual or hearing impairment, and younger adults who want help to live independently. That is a wide range, so we think carefully about who we send to whom, because the skills and manner that suit one person can be quite wrong for another. Support might be a single call each morning or several visits through the day, covering personal care, help with medication, meals, housework, shopping and company. We agree the plan with the person and anyone else they want involved, and we revise it when their life changes. Covering a town and a good deal of countryside, we plan our rounds realistically. A rural visit should be as dependable as one in the middle of Scarborough, and if we cannot promise that we say so at the start. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please ring us if you would like to talk about care at home.
