About Us

We provide care and support to people living in extra care housing in Richmond, North Yorkshire. People here have their own front doors and their own tenancies, and our job is to provide the support that makes living independently workable. We work with older people, including many living with dementia, with adults who have a learning disability or autism, with people who have mental health needs, physical disabilities or sight and hearing loss, and with younger adults.

Extra care suits people who want their own home but would struggle without support close at hand. Some need a short call at the start and end of the day. Some need much more. Some need very little most weeks and a good deal when they are unwell. Because we are on site, support can rise and fall with what is actually needed rather than being fixed by a rota agreed months ago.

We take the tenancy part seriously. This is somebody's home, not a unit, and we knock and wait like anybody else would. Where a person can do something for themselves we leave them to it, and we would rather that than step in because it is quicker.

Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you or a relative are considering extra care housing here, please get in touch and we will talk it through with you honestly.
