About YourLife

YourLife provides support at home for people in Harrogate and the surrounding part of North Yorkshire. The people we visit include older people, many of them living with dementia, as well as younger adults, people with a physical disability and people with sight or hearing loss. Everything begins with a proper conversation in your own home about your routine, your preferences and where help would make the biggest difference. Visits can cover personal care and medication, cooking, shopping and housework, getting out to appointments, or company for somebody who sees very few people in a week. Some people need one short call a day and others need several, or support overnight, and we are happy to start small and adjust as things change. Keeping the same carers visiting the same people is something we protect. Familiarity does more good than almost anything else we can offer, particularly for somebody living with dementia, and it means changes get noticed early by a carer who knows what normal looks like for that person. Where somebody has sight or hearing loss we take particular care over how we communicate. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We treat it as the standard we are expected to hold rather than something to advertise, and we keep asking the people we visit and their families whether we are doing what we promised.
