About Us
We provide intermediate care and support to people in their own homes in Harrogate and across North Yorkshire. The people we work with include older people, younger adults, people living with dementia, people with learning disabilities, autistic people, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss.
Intermediate care is mostly about the weeks after something has changed. A fall, a spell in hospital, an illness that has left somebody less steady than they were. What people need then is practical help and encouragement to get back to doing things for themselves, rather than a service that quietly takes over and leaves them less able than before.
So we work towards people needing us less. Support is agreed with the person, and with family or an advocate if they want that, and it is reviewed frequently because at this stage things genuinely do change from week to week. We work closely with therapists, district nurses, GPs and hospital teams so that everyone is pulling the same way.
Visits can cover personal care, medication, meals and drinks, practice at getting about safely, help around the house and company. Where somebody is not going to regain what they have lost, we say so honestly and help them plan for longer term support.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to talk things through.
