About Us

We are the care and support team at Sandford Station, near Winscombe in North Somerset, and we provide support to people living in their own homes on the retirement village here. That arrangement suits a good many people. Residents have their own front door and their own tenancy, and we are on site to provide as much or as little help as somebody needs, which can be arranged flexibly and changed as circumstances do. Because we are here rather than travelling between houses, we can respond if somebody needs us unexpectedly. Support covers help with getting up and dressed, bathing, medication, meals and the practical jobs around the home, and it can be a single short call or several visits through the day. We also support people living with dementia, where familiarity counts for a great deal, and people with physical disabilities, thinking carefully about equipment and about how each person prefers to be assisted, along with people living with sight or hearing loss and some younger adults. Every plan is written with the person and reviewed honestly, and we would far rather do less as somebody regains confidence than keep visits going out of habit.
