About Us
We are JME Care, a home care agency based in Scunthorpe in North Lincolnshire. We support people in their own homes, working with older people and younger adults, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition, and people with a physical disability or a visual or hearing impairment.
That is a broad range of people and it means we cannot work from a standard template. What we can do is take the time at the start to understand how a person lives, how they communicate, what they want help with and what they would rather do themselves. Getting that wrong at the beginning is hard to recover from, so we would rather spend longer on it.
We try to keep the same carers going to the same households. For someone who takes time to trust new people, or who communicates in a way that needs learning, continuity is not a preference but a requirement. We also keep families and other professionals informed, so that support at home fits with everything else going on around a person.
We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and have not yet been given an overall rating. Anyone considering us is welcome to ask how we work and to speak with us directly.
