Unique Care 4U2 is a home care agency supporting people across Newham in their own homes. We arrange visits around the routines somebody already has, rather than asking people to reshape their day around our rota, and we keep the same carers with the same people wherever we can. We support older people who need help with washing and dressing, medication, meals, shopping and getting out safely. We support people living with dementia, where continuity and patience are worth more than any written instruction. We work with adults who have a learning disability and with autistic adults, often with an emphasis on building confidence rather than taking tasks away from someone, and with people managing mental health conditions, where reliability and being properly listened to count for a great deal. We also support people living with a physical disability and younger adults, whose priorities are usually about getting on with ordinary life. London is a place where people can easily become isolated, and we think good home care does something about that rather than simply ticking off tasks. We have not yet received an overall rating from the Care Quality Commission. Until we do, we would ask to be judged on whether we turn up when we said, whether we stay the full visit and whether we are easy to reach when something needs sorting out.
