About Us

Rainbow Homecare supports people in their own homes in Newham and the surrounding part of London. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs, physical disabilities, and sight and hearing loss.

We begin with a visit at home. What we are trying to work out is not only what help is needed but what somebody would rather keep doing for themselves, because support that takes over more than it has to does more harm than good. The plan is then agreed with the person and whoever they want involved, and it changes as life does.

Support might be a single short call each day, several visits for personal care, medication, meals and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone. In a busy part of London, continuity takes real planning, and we keep rounds tight so that the same carers can go back to the same people rather than whoever happens to be free.

Many of the families we work with have more than one language at home, and we match carers accordingly where we can, since being cared for in a language you think in is not a small thing.
