About Ithaca House
Ithaca House provides care and support in people's own homes across Newham and the surrounding parts of London. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and people with physical disabilities. We do this work at home because home is where nearly everybody would rather be. Familiar surroundings hold a great deal together, particularly for anyone living with dementia, and with sensible support many people can carry on where they are for far longer than they expect. Every arrangement begins with a visit and a proper conversation. We want to understand the day as it actually runs: what time it starts, what still gets done independently, where the difficulties are, who else helps and what would make the biggest difference. The plan follows from that. Consistency is something we protect. Being met at the door by someone you know changes the experience entirely, so we keep teams small and introduce new carers alongside someone familiar rather than sending them alone. We are straightforward with families. If a package no longer fits, or if something has gone wrong, we say so early rather than leaving people to find out. The Care Quality Commission has not yet issued us an overall rating. Until then, we are happy to be judged on how thoroughly we answer your questions and on what the people we already support have to say.
