About Us

At Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living, we provide care and support to people in their own homes across the London Borough of Newham. We believe that where you live should always feel like your own space, and our role is to support you within it, on your terms.

We work with a wide range of people, including older adults, younger adults, and individuals living with learning disabilities or autism, mental health conditions, physical disabilities, and visual or hearing impairments. Each person we support has their own story, their own routines, and their own priorities, and we take the time to understand all of those things properly before we do anything else.

Our approach to care planning is straightforward. We sit down with the people we support, and where appropriate their families or advocates, and we work out together what good support actually looks like for them. That might mean help with daily tasks, personal care, medication, or simply having someone reliable and consistent present throughout the day or night. Whatever the arrangement, we aim to make it feel as natural and unobtrusive as possible.

Being based in Newham means we are genuinely local. We understand the community here, and that matters when you are trying to build trusting relationships with the people you support and their wider networks.

We are registered with the Care Quality Commission, and while we are currently in the process of establishing our rating, we hold ourselves to a high standard in everything we do. We are open with families and commissioners about how we work, and we welcome feedback because it helps us improve.

If you would like to find out whether we could be the right fit for you or someone you care about, we would be very happy to have a conversation.

More about the care at Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Services

What each type of care involves, and the questions worth asking when you call or visit.

Older Person Care

The practical business of later life, meaning a safe shower, clean clothes, tablets taken on time and someone to talk to, is what older person care covers. Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Services is registered for this type of support. Ask how long calls last, how many carers would be involved over a week, and whether the same team can be relied on. Night and weekend cover should be established before anything is agreed, together with what happens if a carer cannot get there. London rates are typically quoted between £30 and £36 an hour, and Newham can assess anyone who may be eligible for funded care.

Learning Disability / Autism

Supported living works best when the support bends around the person, covering their routines, their way of communicating and the sensory things that make a difference. Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Services is registered to support adults with a learning disability or autism. Newham typically commissions and reviews these arrangements, so ask how independence goals are agreed and how often they are looked at again.

Mental Health

Mental health recovery rarely runs in a straight line, and dependable visits with familiar staff help keep the groundwork steady. Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Services is registered for mental health support. Ask what experience the team has of particular conditions, how early warning signs are picked up, and who they would involve if someone became acutely unwell.

Physical Disability

Doorways, bathrooms and the right hoist decide how much of daily life stays within reach for someone with a physical disability. Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Services is registered in this category. Check whether carers are trained on the specific equipment in use, whether double handed calls can be arranged, and how the plan supports someone to keep doing things for themselves.

Visual / Hearing Impairment

Habits matter more than gadgets with sensory loss, such as speaking from the front, keeping walkways clear and putting items back precisely where they belong. Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Services is registered to support people with visual or hearing impairment. Ask how preferences are documented, whether large print or other formats are available, and how carers confirm that instructions have been understood.

Younger Adults

Younger people receiving support at home usually want it to be discreet, flexible and built round their own plans rather than a standard rota. Adults under 65 are among the groups Advance Newham Domiciliary Care and Supported Living Services is registered to support. Ask how early or late calls can be, how carers are matched, and what goals beyond personal care appear in the plan.
