Livingwell provides support at home for people in Chatham and across Medway. The people we visit include older people, many of them living with dementia, as well as younger adults, people with a physical disability and people managing mental health conditions. Everything begins with a proper conversation in your own home about your routine, your preferences and where help would make the biggest difference. Visits can cover personal care and medication, cooking, shopping and housework, getting out to appointments, or company for somebody who sees very few people in a week. Some people need one short call a day and others need several, or support overnight, and we are happy to start small and adjust as things change. Keeping the same carers visiting the same people is something we protect. Familiarity does more good than almost anything else we can offer, particularly for somebody living with dementia, and it means changes get noticed early by a carer who knows what normal looks like for that person. We are registered with the Care Quality Commission and we are glad to be asked about our training, our staffing and how we handle concerns. Families usually want two things from an agency. Somebody who arrives when they said they would, and somebody who tells them the truth when something has gone wrong. We aim to be both.
