About Quayside House
Quayside House in Preston provides care and support to people living in their own homes here and nearby. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience covers dementia, learning disabilities and autism, mental health needs and physical disabilities. The flats belong to the people who live in them, and that shapes everything we do. We are not running an institution, we are supporting people in their own homes, and the amount of help somebody has can rise and fall with need rather than being fixed. Being on site means we know the buildings and the neighbours and can be there quickly when something changes. Support is agreed with the person and whoever they want involved. It may be a short daily call for personal care and medication, several visits covering meals, housework and company, or longer periods for somebody who should not be alone. Where somebody is living with dementia we pay close attention to timing and familiar faces. Where somebody communicates in their own way we learn it and record it so the whole team responds alike. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
