About Us
Meridian Health and Social Care in Preston provides support at home for people living across the town and the surrounding parts of Lancashire. We work in the houses and flats people already know, fitting around lives that are established rather than trying to reorganise them.
We visit older people who need help with washing, dressing, medication, meals and keeping a household going, and we support people living with dementia, where a familiar carer arriving at a familiar hour steadies a day more reliably than anything else we could offer. We also work with adults who have a learning disability or who are autistic, people with physical disabilities, those with a visual or hearing impairment, younger adults and people managing mental ill health.
Every arrangement starts with an unhurried conversation at home, with family involved where that is wanted. We ask what somebody still wants to do for themselves, where help would genuinely make a difference and what we should leave well alone. What we agree is written down plainly and revisited honestly when circumstances change, whether that means more support or less.
Keeping the same carers with the same people matters a great deal, and we protect it as far as we can while being straight with families when holidays or illness make it harder.
Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
