About Cotton Court
Cotton Court provides care and support in people's own homes in Preston and across Lancashire. We work with older people, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. Our first meeting is a conversation rather than an assessment. What has genuinely become difficult? What do you still manage well and would rather we left alone? What would take the most pressure off this week? Times and tasks come from those answers, because a plan written the other way round describes a category of person instead of a real one. The work covers personal care, medication, meals, moving safely about the house, laundry, shopping, appointments and time to talk properly. Where a physical disability affects how somebody gets about, we work around the person and their home rather than expecting them to adapt to us, and we are careful that help with one task does not quietly become help with everything. Where sight or hearing loss is part of the picture, habits matter more than equipment. Saying who we are as we come in. Leaving furniture exactly where it lives. Checking that glasses and hearing aids are clean and actually working rather than assuming they are. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. Please ask us directly about recruitment, training, supervision and what we do when something goes wrong.
