About Highfield Scheme

We support people in their own homes in Great Harwood and the surrounding parts of Lancashire. Our carers visit at agreed times, helping with the parts of daily life that have become difficult so that people can stay in the home and the community they know. The people we work with are a mixed group. Many are older and want help with personal care, medication, meals, shopping or moving safely around the house. Others are younger adults with quite different aims. We support people living with dementia, people with a learning disability or autism, people managing mental health conditions and people with physical disabilities. Each of those asks something a bit different from us, and we would rather adapt than expect everybody to fit the same package. Care is planned with the person it belongs to. What time they want us, what they want help with, what they intend to keep doing themselves, and what they would rather we did not touch. We review that as things change instead of leaving it to gather dust. We keep our visiting teams settled wherever we can, because a carer who knows somebody well is the one who spots early that something has shifted.
