About Ribble Valley Crossroads Care

We are Ribble Valley Crossroads Care, based in Clitheroe, and we provide care in people's own homes across the Ribble Valley and the surrounding parts of Lancashire. We support older people, including many living with dementia, adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, adults living with mental ill health, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. A good deal of our work is with family carers as well as with the people they care for. Caring for a relative full time is relentless in a way that is hard to explain to anybody who has not done it, and a few hours that are genuinely free, rather than spent worrying, can make the difference between carrying on and not. We take that part of our work as seriously as any other. Support is agreed with the person and their family before it starts. We ask how the week actually runs, what has become difficult, what somebody still wants to manage themselves, and where help would genuinely help. In practice that might be personal care, a prompt and a check with medication, meals, help getting safely about, company, or a longer sitting visit so that a carer can get out of the house. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Ring us if you would like to talk it through, whether for yourself or for somebody you care for.
