About Link-Ability

We support people in their own homes in Chorley and across Lancashire. Those we work with include older adults, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, people living with sight or hearing loss, and younger adults. We begin with what the person wants their life to look like rather than with a list of tasks. For many of those we support, our purpose is not to do things for them but to make it possible for them to do things themselves, and then to step back. That covers cooking, managing money, getting to a job or a course, using the bus, and dealing with the everyday business that can be genuinely daunting on your own. Where somebody communicates differently, whether because of a sensory impairment or for another reason, we sort that out properly at the beginning, because everything else we do rests on it. Predictability matters here too. Knowing who is coming and when, and being told about changes in good time, is often what separates a manageable week from a difficult one. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We ask the people we support what they think of us and act on the critical answers rather than filing them politely.
