About Us

Parkhouses Independent Living supports people in their own homes in Burnley and the surrounding area. We work with older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia or mental ill health, people with physical or sensory disabilities, and adults with a learning disability or who are autistic.

Every household we visit wants something slightly different, so we do not offer a standard package. It might be a call first thing to help with washing, dressing and breakfast, or several visits across the day, support with medication, help getting out to appointments, or someone alongside a person so they can keep doing the things they have always done. We agree it with the person, write it plainly, and revise it when circumstances change.

Where somebody has sight or hearing loss, or communicates differently, we take the time to get it right rather than assuming. Small adjustments, made properly, are often the difference between support that helps and support that frustrates.

We keep the same carers going to the same homes as far as the rota allows. People let us into their houses and let us help with things that feel private, and that is much easier with a familiar face.
