We think the length of a visit matters more than most agencies admit. A rushed call is not a cheaper version of a proper one, it is a different and much less useful thing. Somebody hurried through a wash, handed a sandwich and left to it has been processed rather than helped. So we plan visits that allow enough time to do the job without anybody being chivvied along, and we would rather turn work away than take on more than we can deliver that way. In practice we help with washing and dressing, medicines, meals, housework, shopping, appointments and getting out of the house. We aim to send the same small group of workers to each person, because being recognised at the door is worth more than any policy we could write. We are a newer agency and have not yet had a full inspection by the Care Quality Commission, so there is no rating to show you. Ring us and we will come out and listen first.
