About Train2Care Academy
Train2Care Academy provides care and support to people in their own homes in Lambeth and the surrounding part of London. We work with older people and with younger adults, and our experience includes dementia and physical disabilities. We train our own carers, and that is not a detail. It means the people who come to your door have been taught by the same people who supervise them, to the standard we expect, rather than arriving with a certificate and no shared understanding of how we work. It also means we can teach a carer the specifics of a particular household before they ever visit it. Support is worked out at home with the person and whoever they want present. It may be a single daily call for personal care and medication, several visits for meals, housework, shopping and company, or longer stretches for somebody who should not be alone. The plan is agreed together and changes as life changes. For people living with dementia, familiarity and timing do more good than anything else, so we keep teams small and say in advance when a new carer is coming. Where somebody has a physical disability we pay attention to equipment, layout and the exact moment help is needed. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall.
